On the morning of the 7th, Minister Won visited the Pohang Steelworks in North Gyeongsang Province to check the steel imports and exports, and answered the question asking whether the order to start business would be expanded. Minister Won said, “Since the order to resume work is a last resort, we are closely reviewing the industrial damage and the current status of returning transportation,” but said, “A cabinet meeting may be held even tomorrow.”
The order to commence business is ordered by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport after a resolution of the State Council. Although the related agenda was not brought up at the cabinet meeting the day before, the government is in the position that the issue is not over. The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs judged that there was a possibility of causing a national economic crisis, and if the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy requested a separate request, it said that it had completed all preparations so that it could immediately issue an order to commence business through a cabinet meeting.
Minister Won also expressed his gratitude to the truck owners who were operating normally that day and said, “The fact that steel is being shipped normally, at least in part, is thanks to the truck owners who participate in the transportation, so I am grateful for making a really good decision.”
At the same time, he added, “I hope that truck owners will make a quick decision so that they can return to the frontline site without paying attention to the cargo solidarity,” adding, “First, we must make the industrial site work well and legitimately request improvement in treatment.”
