[World Now] Deputy Prime Minister greets Chinese tourists arriving

As a group of 200 Chinese tourists entered the arrivals hall, the Thais who had lined up greeted them with applause.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand personally handed out flower necklaces to tourists, and airport staff handed out souvenirs to tourists one by one.

On the 9th local time, a group of Chinese tourists arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand for the first time since the Corona 19 incident.

At the airport, a large number of government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Anoutin Chanwirakul, Transport Minister Saksayam Chitchop, and Tourism and Sports Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, greeted Chinese tourists.

Thailand, which has suffered great economic difficulties due to Corona 19, is welcoming China’s lifting of travel restrictions with both hands.

Thailand expects about 5 million Chinese tourists to visit Thailand this year, starting with 60,000 this month.

Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post said, “With the end of China’s ‘zero corona’ policy, Chinese people have begun to take overseas vacations.” Thailand and other countries are expecting a massive influx of Chinese tourists,” he said.
