While the match had started five minutes late following a protest action by Stade de Reims against the invasion in Ukraine, AS Monaco took the lead in the second half thanks to a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder (55th, 1-0). And until the last quarter of an hour, the Monegasques thought they would find the top 6, skipping Strasbourg and Rennes in the process.
But a self-goal from Kevin Volland in the 84th minute, then a goal from Nathanaël Mbuku after stoppage time (90th + 3, 1-2) finally reversed the situation for Wout Faes, Maxime Busi (holders) and their teammates : Reims wins against Louis II and takes a 7-point lead over the red zone.
