Jamaica: Good news for Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL. Andre Russell returns to form with a fiery innings in the Caribbean Premier League. Russell hit a 14-ball half-century for Jamaica. Russell’s fiery innings consisted of six sixes and three fours. It was the fastest half – century in the Caribbean Premier League. Russell broke JP Duminy’s record of 15 balls with a half-century.
Russell’s innings helped Talawas to 255 for five in 20 overs against St. Lucia Kings, who were all out for 135 in 17.3 overs. With a huge 120-run victory, Talawas claimed the biggest win in the Caribbean Premier League.
In addition to Russell, Walton (47 off 29 balls), Kennar Lewis (48 off 21 balls), Hyder Ali (45 off 32 balls) and Rowman Powell (38 off 26 balls) were the other notable contributors. In reply, only Tim David (56 off 28 balls) shone for the Kings.
Russell, who also excelled in bowling, took one wicket for 19 runs in three overs while Michael Pretorios took four wickets for 32 runs.
