WWE has announced the hiring of Wade Barrett as an NXT commentator, permanently joining the team made up of Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix. The news was advanced exclusively by Justin Barrasso, a journalist from Sports Illustrated, being subsequently confirmed by the sports entertainment company through its Web page.
Wade Barrett confirmó a Sports Illustrated que the agreement is for one year, including the option to extend it in future negotiations. Thus, Barrett will occupy a position at the comment table as an analyst, completing the team after the departure by Mauro Ranallo from WWE.
The former wrestler has made his first statements as an official NXT commentator for Sports Illustrated. Next, we leave you with the highlights:
“I hope this lasts long enough. There is no ‘bad news‘ to share, but don’t forget, I always have some up my sleeve.
Our goal is to be different, something more different than the rest of WWE programming. We don’t want to be an exact copy of what is heard on RAW or SmackDown. I have known Beth Phoenix for years, she is very talented, and I am starting to discover Vic. I am looking forward to starting working and learning with them, I am excited to develop this in a united group.
This (NXT) is not a development brand. I have followed the races of The Undisputed Era, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Rhea Ripley for a long time. There are many new faces NXT is the place where people become stars. Bronson Reed He is someone very strong who reminds me of a young Mark Henry. It may be because he comes from England, but I want to see how Ridge Holland becomes a superstar, has a lot of potential. I am also especially interested in narrating the struggles of Shotzi Blackheart on a weekly basis, he’s going to be a big star.
“I am as motivated, excited and eager to work at the NXT table as when I was in the ring. I can’t wait to see what happens in the months and years to come. I’m excited to tell the stories of the NXT stars and I am grateful for the opportunity to entertain the audience during each week. I love this new role. “
It should be remembered that Barrett temporarily joined the NXT commentary table in the episode of August 26. Since then, it has continued to work as proof while negotiating their incorporation full time, as already advanced PWInsider. In his 40s, the former Intercontinental champion has worked as a commentator on the independent scene, counting on collaborations with WCPW, World of Sport Wrestling and, more recently, your work at NWA.
