Xavi Hernandez has admitted he is “mainly responsible” for Barcelona’s exit from the Champions League.
La Blaugrana has been knocked out of Europe’s top competition in the group stage for the second consecutive season despite heavy investment in the squad this summer.

Xavi also spoke about the game itself at Camp Nou, saying it was the first time this season that Barcelona did not compete: “Barcelona did not play today, we did not reach the level of Bayern. Bayern were better today, they played well. More intense and aggressive.
“The truth is, knowing that we were knocked out of the Champions League before the game against Bayern made a big difference for us.
