The anger was palpable in the parking lot of the Carrefour d’Haine-Saint-Pierre, this Wednesday. This is where Frédéric Robert, the 44-year-old homeless man beaten to death last Friday, had been living for two years with “his friends”.
“I still remember the first time I saw him,” recalls Xavier (assumed name), one of his companions of misfortune. “I was in my tent above the embankment and heard the sound of a bottle opening. I came out and there he was. From that day on, we were inseparable.”
