While the output of Dying Light 2 was postponed from December to February, Techland is also preparing to optimize the first opus released a few years ago.
Upcoming optimization for new consoles
For the time being, Dying Light is not optimized for the latest Xbox consoles available on the market. The game has benefited from the FPS Boost on Xbox Series X in the spring, but it still has a real dedicated update. And that shouldn’t be too late!
The developers at Techland confirm that they are currently working on a “next-gen” update of Dying Light. We are not entitled to more details, but they will be communicated shortly. For now, the game continues to run at 30 FPS on Xbox Series S and PS5 but it’s a safe bet that its framerate and resolution will be improved on the latest consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
Meanwhile, the release of Dying Light 2 will be released on February 4, 2021. It will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC as well as Xbox Series X | S and PS5.
