Xbox tests Clarity Boost feature to optimize cloud play from Edge

Xbox has presented its new function for video games Clarity Boost (‘increase in clarity’, in Spanish), which allows optimize image quality automatically when gaming in the cloud via Microsoft’s Edge browser.

The new Clarity Boost feature “provides a optimal look and feel when playing Xbox games from the cloud “, which improves the gaming experience with the xCloud feature of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as assured by Xbox through a statement.

Xbox has shared screenshots of the video game Gears Tactics to show the operation of Clarity Boost, in which a greater level of detail in the textures of the character in his skin and in his suit. It also makes hair and beard appear much sharper.

This new optimization has initially reached the Canary version for testers of Microsoft’s own browser, Edge, and uses a series of parallel scaling technologies, with which the visual quality improves compared to today.

After testing himself among Edge testers, Clarity Boost will be available to all Microsoft Edge browser users next year, as confirmed by Xbox.
