On social networks, a photo apparently taken this weekend at Pâquier, on the shores of Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie), elicits a lot of comments. We see a crowd enjoying the good weather and the view. Some people wear masks, some don’t.

«Previous atmosphere on the shores of Lake Annecy on February 20, 2021! Too many people or not ?? ”asks a user on a Facebook page, where the post has been viewed more than a million times. “It’s really rubbish,” comments one user. “At the same time we can no longer do anything so necessarily we are all in the same place at the same time,” tempers another woman.

On Twitter, a user is annoyed at a non-respect of the rules: “No distancing (no police to enforce them), the masks are under the chins most of the time. “

FAKE OFF

Contacted by 20 Minutes, the author of the photo confirms having taken this shot mid-afternoon on Saturday with his smartphone. “When I arrived at Pâquier, I was impressed by the world,” he says. Passionate about photography, he explains having taken the shot from an elevated point of view, the Pont des amours, to make the crowd effect more “impressive”, a perspective process already used by a photographer for a viral shot of the rue Sainte-Catherine, in Bordeaux. First published on the page of the private group “T’es un Annécien si…”, the photo then toured social networks.

For its part, the town hall of Annecy specifies that wearing a mask is not compulsory on the shores of Lake Annecy, at Pâquier and at the Jardins de l’Europe in particular. Alone the city center and the historic city center are affected by this obligation.

In Haute-Savoie, the prefect has also made it compulsory to wear a mask in open-air markets, in the vicinity and in parking lots of shopping centers and hypermarkets, in the vicinity of schools, train stations and within demonstrations.

A site taken by storm with the good weather

To fight against the pandemic, “people must be reasonable, they respect barrier gestures and distances, recommends the town hall of Annecy. They can wear a mask even if it is not compulsory ”.

In addition, in the regional media, The Dauphiné Libéré relate
“A weekend in the false air of spring”. A photo taken on Sunday at Pâquier shows that the place was “taken by storm”. France Bleu Pays de Savoie also evokes a
high attendance this weekend in the city.
