[아시아경제 영남취재본부 김용우 기자] Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo visited Geumsansa Temple in Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do on the 24th and paid tribute to Wolju, who passed away on the 22nd.
Governor Lee and his wife Kim Jae-deok arrived at Geumsansa Temple around 1:00 pm on the same day and held a three-fold ceremony at the funeral home of Monk Wolju prepared in the Joseon Dynasty Seungjang Cheoyeong Memorial Hall.
After completing his condolences, the governor greeted the monks at Geumsansa Temple, then moved to his seat and had an interview over tea with Monk Wonhaeng, head of the Jogye Order.
It is known that this governor has been in a relationship with Wolju since he was a member of the National Assembly.
Governor Lee said, “Lord Wolju has done a lot for the country. That’s why I came to condolences,” he said.
