you will never complain again after deleting a message by mistake

WhatsApp is deploying in beta a brand new feature that should delight more than one and more than one: in the future, undeleting a message should indeed be possible.

Today, delete a message from a conversation WhatsApp is an irreversible action where going back does not exist. Once it’s done, it’s done. The missclick or a few hesitations before taking action can sometimes be regretted, without this being able to be corrected. But the Meta service wants to fix it.

The error is human

As noticed WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has rolled out beta version 2.22.18.13 for Android which contains a small interesting feature. A few beta testers were able to test it, but not all. The idea is simple: when deleting a message, an option to recover it appears at the bottom of your interface.

On the shared screenshot, an “undo” button indeed appears for a few seconds only. During this time, you then have plenty of time to press it to cancel the deletion of the message. If your initial maneuver was a mistake, the punishment is less harsh.

By the end of the year on our phones?

Today, this type of action is relatively common, but also not widespread on all instant messaging platforms. However, it can be found on Gmail after inadvertently removing an important email. This is a very practical feature and very useful on a daily basis.

Still, this function should probably land for the general public by the end of the year. As usual, do not hesitate to download WhatsApp updates to enjoy the latest news. They are generally current or still under development.
