According to a study carried out by the BVA Institute in 2017, 1 in 2 French people were hampered in their approach to accessing care, for fear of judgment on the part of a health professional. Above all, they fear derogatory or inappropriate remarks or even “the lesson of morals”. This sense of judgment is very real, especially in women and those who have seen intimate matters before, such as the morning-after pill, reproduction, or STI screening / treatment.

What advice to overcome your fear of consulting? Why is it essential to use language that allows the younger generation to remain in the health care system? How can caregivers be made aware of this issue of stigma?
