The striker, Ansu Fati, joined the list of injured players in the Spanish football club Barcelona, before his scheduled match against its host, Rayo Vallecano, in the eleventh stage of the Spanish League.
Sharjah 24 – Asaad Khalil:
Barcelona Football Club announced that striker Ansu Fati will miss the team’s match against Rayo Vallecano in the eleventh stage of the Spanish League, due to a knee injury.
Spanish international Fati, who signed a long-term contract with Barcelona a few days ago, was substituted 16 minutes before the end of the Clasico match against Real Madrid last Sunday due to injury.
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman had said during the press conference for the match against Rayo Vallecano that doubts were swirling around Fati’s participation.
Fati did not appear in the list of players heading to Madrid to play the match, and Barcelona confirmed that he would not participate today.
Barcelona said in a statement on their website: “Ansu Fati suffers from pain in his right knee. He is not ready to participate, and his return depends on the speed of his recovery.”
After an absence of ten months due to a knee injury, Fati returned to participation from the match that ended with Barcelona’s victory over Levante on September 26.
Fati scored in that match, and scored five other participations in all competitions this season, but he scored another single goal, which came against Valencia ten days ago.
