The Youth League, the UEFA Champions League for under-19s, will not take place this season. UEFA announced its cancellation on Wednesday, February 17, when the round of 16 was due to start in early March. The health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic is preventing its smooth progress. “The movement restrictions affecting the clubs involved create major difficulties for the organization of their matches”, explains UEFA, according to which there was “no possibility to postpone the start of the competition again”. “The health and safety of players must be considered a top priority,” added the instance. Real Madrid, crowned last August, will therefore keep the trophy for another year.
