(Istanbul = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Seung-wook = Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 27th (local time) ordered the forces operating nuclear weapons to strengthen their vigilance posture.
According to the Associated Press and AFP news agency, Putin said, “Western countries are taking unfriendly measures toward Russia.”
President Putin ordered the defense minister and the chief of the military general staff (the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) to initiate “special combat mission measures” for units in charge of nuclear deterrence.
