[10/19-26]”Exhibition Design Exercise” Special Exhibition by the Tokyo University of the Arts Curatorial Education and Research Center …

What is the Exhibition Design Exercise?

This is a social co-creation course (open class) that the Tokyo University of the Arts Curatorial Education and Research Center will offer to students and working adults from 2023, and will be developed as part of the “Yurakucho Geidai Campus,” a three-way collaboration program between Tokyo University of the Arts, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and YAU from 2024. Students will learn practically about the process of planning, producing, and running a contemporary art exhibition in Yurakucho.

◾️What is YAU?
Yurakucho Art Urbanism YAU was born as a demonstration program to attract artists to the city, using studios in Japan’s leading business districts of Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho as bases, and to encourage interaction with workers. It brings together a wide range of artists, from media arts such as video and photography to performing arts, and art managers who support their activities. By having students and workers participate together in this exercise, we aim to foster a co-creative community with society and to develop artistic talent that will play an active role in society.

◻︎About Slit Park YURAKUCHO
Slit Park YURAKUCHO is an initiative by Toho Leo Co., Ltd., a company with know-how in green infrastructure, that aims to foster a community through biophilic design. The L-shaped alleyway, which was used as a bicycle parking area in the Shin Kokusai Building, was renovated with a wide variety of greenery as its axis, and opened as a “Forest of Alleyways” with rest areas and food and beverage services, as a place where people who work in the neighborhood can come and go and gather.
