Burkina: 10 dead in an attack in the department of Seguenega (official)
Ouagadougou, August 10, 2022 (AIB) – An attack perpetrated on Monday once morest the village of Sima in the department of Séguénéga province of Yatenga caused 10 deaths including five Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and five civilians, according to an official press release .
In a press release received this Wednesday morning at the AIB, the secretary general of the North region informs that on the morning of Monday, “unidentified armed individuals carried out an attack once morest the village of Sima in the department of Séguénéga, province of the Yatenga”.
“The report of this attack unfortunately reports ten people dead, including five Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and five civilians,” he said in the statement.
SG Kouilga Albert Zongo, on behalf of the governor, specifies that “a few wounded were also recorded” and that “the attack led to the movement of the populations of the said department to the surrounding localities”.
