Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister, revealed the health and population, the total mental health services provided to citizens in the 100 Days of Health campaign, since its launch last June.
100 days of health campaign
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar explained, in a statement, that 328,472 services were provided in the field of mental health, including emergency services, psychological treatment, addiction treatment for adults and adolescents, rehabilitation, psychological support, following up on complaints and responding to inquiries.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar called on all citizens to go to the campaign’s service headquarters and mobile clinic locations, to benefit from its services, or to request home visits for elderly patients and those unable to move via the hotline 15335.
Earlier, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, stressed the importance of intensifying community awareness of the seriousness of stroke, which is the second cause of death in the world and the first cause of disability, during his speech at the Sixth Annual Stroke Conference.
The Minister pointed out the necessity of holding the conference periodically, because of its utmost importance at the local and global levels, ensuring the development of working mechanisms for diagnosing and treating stroke, which poses a major threat to human health.
The Minister explained that global statistics indicate that a person suffers a stroke every 40 seconds, and that there are regarding 13 million patients who suffer from a stroke annually, stressing the need to take the necessary measures to reduce these injuries.
