BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) — Cross-border settlement in renminbi under current accounts reached 14.03 trillion yuan (1.98 trillion US dollars) in 2023, data from the People’s Bank of China (the central bank) showed last Friday.
The figure includes 10.69 trillion yuan in goods trade settlement and 3.34 trillion yuan in services trade settlement and other current account items, the bank said.
The settlement of cross-border direct investment in RMB will reach 7.6 trillion yuan in 2023.
Of the total, foreign direct investment reached 2.6 trillion yuan, while foreign direct investment reached 5 trillion yuan.
