Person A is accused of brandishing a weapon at his mother B (in her 40s) and running away from an apartment in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju at around 5:34 PM on this day.
It is reported that Mr. A’s father, who had been out for a while at the time of the incident, returned home, found Mr. B collapsed, and called 119.
Mr. B was taken to the hospital by the 119 rescue team, but died.
Person A, who ran away from the scene, was caught around 6:50 PM near the apartment by the police who responded to the report by his father.
Group A was known to have symptoms of autism.
A police official said, “We plan to conduct an investigation into Mr. A with a trusted person present, determine the exact circumstances of the incident, including the motive for the crime, and then apply for an arrest warrant.”
