Thirty people were injured in Tuscany, central Italy, on Saturday when the floor of a 15th-century convent collapsed beneath dancers during a wedding party, regional authorities said.

Five of the injured people are in critical condition following the accident near Pistoia, north of Florence, according to Tuscany Governor Eugenio Giani.

Around sixty people were dancing when the floor of a room on the first floor gave way, according to Italian media.

More than a hundred rescuers were mobilized, Mr. Giani stressed on Telegram.
