Vienna – A 29-year-old was sentenced to 18 years in prison at the Vienna regional court on Thursday for the attempted murder of a taxi driver. The man who had denied intent to kill during the trial surprisingly accepted the verdict. Since the public prosecutor also decided not to take legal action, the verdict is legally binding. The defendant attacked the taxi driver with a homemade scalpel and a razor blade on July 12, 2023 for a trivial reason.
