Doha: 2.35 crore people have applied for tickets in the second phase to watch the World Cup football matches. After the group draw, the picture of the World Cup matches became clear and this time the fans booked tickets more excitedly than in the first round. In the second phase, which ran from April 5 to 28, 2.35 crore tickets were booked. Most of the applicants are from Argentina and Brazil, the major powers in world football.
It is followed by fans from England, France, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Most people booked tickets for the Argentina-Mexico match in the group stage. Tickets for the Argentina-Saudi, England-US and Argentina-Poland matches are also in high demand. Ticket recipients will be notified via FIFA e-mail following May 31.
