As police spokeswoman Lisa Sandrieser confirmed to the Kleine Zeitung, there was a fatal accident at work at the Mondi company in the Frantschach-St. Gertraud in the Lavant Valley.
Exactly how the tragedy happened is still under investigation. The casualty is a 20-year-old man from Lavanttal, who was working at the paper factory through a leasing company. Apparently, the young man worked alone at the scene of the accident. When reversing, he is said to have fallen between two pieces of equipment and suffered such serious injuries that he died at the scene of the accident.
