2020 renovation of home appliances plan: how to apply for the Basque Government’s aid

To promote economic recovery in some sectors, the Basque Government has launched several renewal plans, including those dedicated to the change of windows and household appliances, which have a budget of 2.5 million euros each. The beneficiaries will receive up to 25% of the total cost of the new glazing, with a limit of 1,500 euros. Thanks to the plan for the renovation of electrical appliances in the home, approximately 25,000 household appliances are expected to be replaced by others with high energy efficiency.

These lines of support aim to influence energy saving in the residential sector as part of the objectives of the Energy Strategy for the Basque Country by 2030, as well as to stimulate the market for high-efficiency equipment within the plans to reactivate the economy. They also represent a measure of economic recovery to alleviate the consequences of Covid-19. The new package of support measures of the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) is intended exclusively for individuals who They must be owners, usufructuaries or tenants of the residence of habitual occupation where the new electrical appliances will be installed.

The deadline to request aid will end on November 30 or when the 2.5 million budget is exhausted. The aid will be requested electronically through the tool provided for this on the EVEnergĂ­a website and will be awarded through a concurrence process, that is, by order of receipt of the documentation correctly formalized and completed.

Within the renovation plan for household appliances, a subsidy may be requested for the purchase of high-efficiency appliances that involve the effective removal of the old appliance for recycling. The maximum aid per beneficiary and household appliance will not exceed 25% of the final sale price (RRP), and the same person may not receive more than one grant for the same type of device.

Appliances that can receive aid of up to 130 euros for the purchase of fridges and freezers (or fridge-freezers), washing machines, dishwashers and dryers with the A +++ label; of one hundred euros for the same appliances if they are A ++ and A + type ovens.
