Among them, 13,548 girls and 14,731 boys. The number of births to citizens was 15,605, including 8,114 boys and 7,491 girls. Today, Monday, the European Union accused Apple of depriving its competitors of the famous “Tap as-you-go” payment system on “iPhone” phones.
The European Commission, the executive arm of the 27-nation European Union, has been investigating Apple’s practices since 2020.
“The panel concluded in principle that Apple is restricting competition by preventing developers of mobile wallet applications from accessing essential hardware and software on its devices,” said Margrethe Vestager, the European Union’s antitrust chief.
“Apple has unfairly protected its Apple Pay wallet from competition, which is illegal under our rules,” she added.
The committee considered that this practice “has an exclusionary effect on competitors, reduces innovation and reduces choices for consumers who use a cell phone wallet on iPhone devices.”
The European Commission said it had sent an objection to Apple regarding its practices, a formal step in its investigation into suspected violations of EU antitrust rules.
