In addition to unveiling a logo, the American studio Infinity Ward has confirmed that the next installment of the Call of Duty license will be called Modern Warfare 2.
Since last week, Infinity Ward was preparing the reveal of the logo of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2the sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. All social networks of the subsidiary ofActivision went dark, changing their profile pictures and header images to what initially appeared to be total darkness. According to some sources, the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 will focus on the drug war once morest the Colombian cartels. The single-player story is a more realistic version of Modern Warfare 2019’s campaign, with more close combat, tricky decision-making, and the classic Call of Duty moments fans are used to. Note that Modern Warfare 2 should be released at the same time as a brand new map for Warzone, the third entirely new arena to be launched for the Battle Royale.
Not the “same” Ghost in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2
If Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley is indeed in the next Call of Duty, as teased by Infinity Ward, he might not be voiced by the same actor as in previous games. Indeed, Jeff Leach who played the famous operator of the British special forces as well as Task Force 141 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is no longer involved in the license since a series of misogynistic comments resurfaced on the Web.
