The city, originally with around 100,000 inhabitants, is the largest city in the Luhansk region not yet controlled by Russia and accordingly has high strategic and symbolic value. The Franches-Montagnes Leisure Center (CLFM) had yet another eventful year, but it now has the tools to do better. The general meeting of shareholders of the institution taignonne was held Tuesday evening in Saignelégier. During the meeting, the 2021/2022 accounts, with a deficit of 970,769 francs, were approved. The coronavirus has weighed down the last financial year. Without cantonal aid, the loss would have been close to 1.3 million francs according to the figures revealed by the Board of Directors (CA). According to its new director, Mickaël Joly, the results are similar to those of the previous year and much better than those budgeted.
Some sectors have done well despite the health crisis. Both the hotel and the restaurant achieved higher revenues than last year. The CLFM recorded more than 16,000 overnight stays, ie approximately 6,000 more than during the previous financial year. But according to the CA, this dynamic has led to a need for labor which has had an impact on payroll costs. However, the coronavirus is not the only crisis that the institution has had to manage.
Tools to do better
Following the changes in management that have shaken the CLFM in recent months, an external audit was commissioned by the former Board of Directors. The results of the report were presented to the shareholders during the session. These are ways to improve the management of the Franches-Montagnes Leisure Centre. The advice relates in particular to human resources but also to the issue of governance between the Board, management and shareholders. Brussels: The European Union (EU) summit has decided to suspend most of Russia’s fuel imports to Europe by the end of this year and to provide $ 9.7 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine.
The decision to suspend maritime fuel imports comes as part of additional sanctions to punish Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. Imports through the pipeline will continue, despite Hungary opposition.
EU chief Ursula von Der Lein has said that 90 percent of Russia’s fuel imports to Europe will be cut off by the end of the year. However, no definite action has been taken regarding the resumption of foodgrain exports from Ukraine. Millions of tons of grain are stored in the country.
Earlier, the European Union (EU) imposed five-point sanctions on Russia over its involvement in the Ukraine conflict. However, there was no consensus among the leaders on the fuel embargo. About 40% of the EU’s natural gas and 25% of its oil comes from Russia.
