In twenty years, health democracy has become a reality. Support for the commitment of users of the health system in the social, medico-social and health sectors is even the subject ofa recommendation from the High Authority for Health. This commitment now takes different forms. What if it was an opportunity? To embrace the complexity of the subject, France Assos Health was able to promote the emergence of a completely new national workspace bringing together researchers, patient partners, user representatives, elected officials and members of associations. From which it emerges that pooling approaches can only be profitable. It is still necessary to get to know each other and understand the role of each: this is the object of the document developed as a result of this reflection. The message is clear: let users take it up!

De là à parler de coopération, on en est encore loin : « On incite les professionnels de santé à travailler en équipe pluridisciplinaire, mais pas à travailler avec des patients partenaires ou des représentants d'usagers (RU). L’enjeu, aujourd’hui, pour l’amélioration de l’expérience patient, c’est justement d’avoir à la fois des RU qui pourront œuvrer à l’amélioration de la qualité des soins et à la promotion des droits (grâce notamment à leur rôle de représentation des intérêts de tous les usagers de l’établissement) et des PP qui ont l’expérience quotidienne de la vie avec un défi de santé. Or, souvent, RU comme PP ne se (re)connaissent pas au sein d’un même l’établissement. » Nolwenn Tourniaire est patiente partenaire (PP), elle occupe un poste à mi-temps de chargée de mission au sein de la CAPPS de Bretagne, une structure régionale d’appui à la Coordination pour l’Amélioration des Pratiques Professionnelles de santé.
