An alleged thief was killed by a gendarme in Baigorria at 1500 and the latter was subsequently arrested.

The arrest of a 37-year-old corporal who works in the Road Safety section of the National Gendarmerie in Carcarañá, Fabricio C., was ordered by prosecutor Griselda Paolicelli following he allegedly killed a man named Marcelo Alejandro Flores in Baigorria at 1500 in the north of the city. The homicide happened around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday when the gendarme, who was in civilian clothes, encountered two people stealing cables. The alleged thieves did not comply with the gendarme’s orders to stop and attempted to attack him, at which point the gendarme fatally wounded Flores with a regulation weapon. Flores’ accomplice escaped. Prosecutor Paolicelli ordered the detention of the gendarme and the seizure of the weapon used in the crime, as well as a survey of video surveillance cameras in the area and testimonies from witnesses. An autopsy was also ordered for Flores’ body.

The prosecutor Griselda Paolicelli ordered the arrest of the gendarme who killed an alleged thief last night in Baigorria at 1500, in the north of the city. This is Fabricio C., a 37-year-old corporal who works in the Road Safety section of the National Gendarmerie in Carcarañá. Meanwhile, the deceased person was identified as Marcelo Alejandro Flores, who had an address set in Washington at 1700.
The homicide occurred around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. According to the first information that came out of the event, everything happened when the National Gendarmerie, who was in civilian clothes, was leaving his house and met two people who were stealing cables in Baigorria at 1500.
When encountering a situation of flagrante delictothe gendarme would have given the voice to stop, but the alleged thieves did not pay attention and they would have tried to attack him. It was at that moment that the gendarme activated his regulation weapon and fatally wounded who hours later was identified as Marcelo Flores. The accomplice of the deceased escaped from the place.

The investigation of the crime was left in the hands of the prosecutor of the Intentional Homicide Unit Gisella Paolicelli, who ordered that the Gendarmerie be detained preventively while the sequence of the crime is established. He also ordered the seizure of the weapon used in the act, a 9-millimeter Pietro Beretta pistol.

Rocket sirens wailed in northern Israel on Thursday followingnoon. A single missile launched from Lebanese territory was successfully shot down by the Iron Dome air defense system.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a security meeting following the attack. It is the largest attack on the north of the country since 2006.

“Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has been briefed on the details of the recent security incidents on Israel’s northern border and has issued initial instructions to the IDF chief of staff and the entire defense apparatus,” an official statement on the attack from Lebanon said.
Several injured in northern Israel
According to the Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom, there are three injured in northern Israel. Images also showed impacts on a house and a street – it was initially unclear whether these came directly from the shelling from Lebanon or from the Iron Dome’s anti-missile missiles.

Local residents reported hearing loud explosions across northern Israel while in towns near the Lebanese border including Matsuva, Shlomi, Hanita, Admit, Eylon, Hila, Rosh HaNikra and Arab el Aramasha. The sirens continued to wail.
Airbus will install a second aircraft assembly line in Tianjin, doubling its production capacity for A320 family aircraft on Chinese soil, the executive chairman of European aircraft manufacturer Guillaume Faury announced on Thursday.
“As the Chinese market continues to grow, it makes perfect sense for us to produce locally for Chinese airlines, and likely other customers in the region,” he said.
The framework agreement was initialed by the boss of Airbus in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and his Chinese counterpart Xi Xinping in Beijing, noted an AFP journalist.
This new final assembly line (FAL, for “final assembly line”) should enter service in the second half of 2025.
Airbus already has an A320 assembly line in Tianjin since 2008, which has produced more than 600 A320s. It currently produces four devices per month and should increase to six later this year.
Once this new line is in service, Airbus will have ten in the world: two in Tianjin, two in Mobile in the United States, two in Toulouse and four in Hamburg in Germany.
