He is a biology student at the National University of the South. At 21 years old, this woman from Rock promotes environmental awareness with positive and powerful messages. He participated in various initiatives and events at the international level that seek to address the environmental challenges of the time on a small and large scale.

From a very young age, she showed an enormous passion for the conservation of nature and the protection of the environment. His interest was fueled by his participation in the Eco Huellas de Roca group during his secondary education, where he did outdoor activities and was trained in environmental matters. The rise of the movement led by the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg also influenced her commitment to this cause.

Motivated by this commitment, García became involved in organizations in the region and also in the Argentine Climate Alliancewhich seeks to address environmental challenges and raise awareness in society regarding the importance of protecting the environment.

Convinced of the importance of multiplying the message, she began to venture into platforms such as Instagram or YouTube to communicate her ideas and proposals in a creative way.

And 2021 fwas selected by the Goethe Institute on an international level to represent Argentina in a training school for environmental communicators. Under the slogan “Become an influencer for climate change”, Alenka traveled to Germany and Spain to train on these topics together with a dozen activists from Europe, Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay.

«The European reality is different from ours in terms of the environment, they have different problems. The important thing is to realize that These situations affect us globally.” commented. “The training was extremely enriching because it gave me tools to communicate better and taking new consumption formats as a reference, mainly from young audiences,” she added.

Alenka defends the importance of a positive outlook in communication regarding the environment. «It is fundamental that society understands that environmental care is not only a negative and discouraging problem, but an opportunity to find creative solutions“, he explained. “Everyone, regardless of our sector, can contribute and think of innovative ideas to address this problem.”

García maintains that concepts such as climate change and pollution are intrinsically linked to social and economic aspects. “If we do not know our natural environment, we will not be able to love it or protect it,” he added. «We must bring people closer through environmental education, allowing them to know the wonders that surround us, understand our position within that natural reality and develop a genuine appreciation for our environment. Only when we value and care regarding something can we take concrete steps to care for it.”
