Uncomfortable moment of Larreta in Chubut and the song for “Patricia presidente”
2023-07-31 14:15:00
Horacio Rodriguez Larreta y Patricia Bullrich they made an effort once once more to show themselves together despite the not very subtle differences that they have expressed since the prelude to the campaign.
Both pre-candidates for the Presidency for Together for Change keep their confrontation strong, but this Sunday they saw each other once more and shared the stage with ignacio torresthe cambiemite elected as the new governor of chubut. There, the current head of government dHe had to bear that the militancy sang “Patricia President”.
It was a somewhat uncomfortable moment, at least from Larretista’s point of view.. Both candidates for Together for Change had last seen each other in Córdobawhen the radical Rodrigo Loredo admitted following the elections that “I made them come to fart”following his defeat in the competition for the Mayor of the capital.
Elections in Chubut: the official candidate lost, but assured that he won by 800 votes
Now they crossed paths once more, but with a victory in between. The two of them took the stage and surrounded the young winner. The first to deliver his speech was Larreta, who congratulated the people of Chubut because “they were encouraged to change” and remarked that “we are going to be together, always together to beat Kirchnerism and put an end to this inflation, to put an end to insecurity and drug mafias.”
“It feels, Patricia president”
But the central moment came with Bullrich’s speech. After a formal greeting with Larreta and Torres, the former Security Minister took the microphone and began congratulating “at this historic moment” the new governor and the new lieutenant governor. She later criticized the ruling party for suspicions regarding the vote count and following a few seconds she was stopped due to the public uproar.
In front of the stage, a large number of people were singing “It feels, it feels, Patricia president; it feels, it feels, Patricia president”. Larreta, with her serious face, managed to look at the speaker, who kept her hand raised above her as a timid attempt to stop the verbiage. But he decided to come out with a phrase that led to a slap from his opponent from Buenos Aires.
“On the 13th we are going to discuss with Larreta who is president, for now we are calm. On the 13th we discussed it, now we are calm, we are here supporting Nacho, all the people of Chubut,” he said. “On the 13th we discussed with Larreta and we will see who wins,” he insisted, taking the current head of the Buenos Aires government by the arm, who returned to pat his shoulder.
This is how the moment left behind was left exposed by the inmate who has lived for months within Together for Change, although with an exchange of gestures that sought to warn that following the STEP a path of unity can be framed within Together for Change. After so many statements and water under the bridgewhat is not seems difficult to be, but not impossible.
Chubut was the last bump in a semester full of strong Peronist defeats
Chubut and a new victory for JxC
Both pre-candidates celebrated Torres’ tight victory, following Juan Pablo Luque also stated that he would win with a difference of 800 votes.
Minutes later, in an interview with TNBullrich maintained: “This is a STEP, the one who wins, wins and the other accompanies”. For his part, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta said that they went through “a very long scrutiny, but always together”highlighting the unity with its competitor.
Rodriguez Larreta and Bullrich hugged at Trelew in support of Ignacio Torres
Torres was the one who had confirmed the presence of both in Trelew, on Sunday morning, where they await the results of the vote held this Sunday in the province, and defined the meeting as “A photo that shows the maturity of Together for Change”. This weekend, the pre-candidates met in La Rural, but practically did not speak, evidencing the tensions that are experienced in the inmate.

Preventing Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration: A Campaign to Protect Nigerians and Promote Economic Opportunities
2023-07-31 13:06:00
In recent years, irregular migration from Nigeria has increased drastically in Belgium. Last year, 352 asylum applications were filed by Nigerians in Belgium, almost double the 181 applications in 2019. No less than 96% of Nigerians who apply for asylum in our country do not, however, need of protection following investigation and must then return to their country of origin.
Undocumented Nigerian women are also often victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. In recent years, 122 Nigerian victims of sexual exploitation have been traced, but the actual number is much higher.
Up to 4 years in prison for human trafficking and exploitation of prostitutes
It is precisely to raise awareness among the Nigerian population of the dangers of human trafficking, exploitation and the risks associated with irregular migration that Nicole De Moor, the Secretary of State in charge of Asylum and Migration, ordered the Foreigners’ Office to launch a prevention campaign in this country.
”Nigerians have little chance of obtaining asylum in our country and we want, through a prevention campaign, to prevent people from making the dangerous crossing. Every person we can convince is one less victim. We are also working to improve cooperation with Nigeria on returns. A life of illegal residence only leads to misery and exploitation. It is in everyone’s interest that these people can build a new future in their country of origin,” she explains.

For this campaign, the ‘Office des Étrangers’ will join forces with the local organization Pathfinders for Justice, which has expertise in preventing and combating human trafficking. In addition to the risks associated with irregular migration, the campaign also aims to draw the attention of Nigerians to the many economic opportunities that exist in Nigeria and to show that the possibilities of obtaining asylum in Belgium are almost non-existent. Pathfinders for Justice will work with people who have been returned and victims of human trafficking as part of this campaign.

The campaign will be broadcast on the radio, in newspapers, on billboards and in social media. Awareness actions will also be carried out in schools. A hotline will be set up to direct callers to local economic opportunities. These opportunities will also be presented on a website.
A “close” cooperation with the Nigerian ambassador in Brussels
Nicole De Moor met with the Nigerian Ambassador in Brussels earlier this month to discuss closer cooperation on the return of illegal residents. “Cooperation with countries of origin is essential to guarantee the effective return of illegal residents,” she concludes.
