Pier Antonio Panzeri was arrested on December 9 when the Qatargate affair broke out. First imprisoned in Saint-Gilles, then conditionally released, the former Italian MEP is now free to move around.
Pier Antonio Panzeri had been on an electronic bracelet for several months. The former Italian MEP, alleged mastermind of Qatargate, was able to leave prison last April thanks to his repentant status.

The newspaper Le Soir announced this Friday that he is now free to move. The Chamber of Council in fact decided on Thursday to accept his request to no longer be under an electronic bracelet. Pier Antonio Panzeri will, however, not be able to be in contact with other defendants or leave Belgium.
Panzeri was arrested on December 9, 2022 when the Qatargate affair broke out.
