In the case of the referendum on the ultimately failed Pitztal-Ötztal ski resort merger in Tyrol, three members of the electoral authority had to answer on Tuesday at the Innsbruck regional court on suspicion of abuse of official power. They were accused of filling out voting cards for other eligible voters with “pro-votes.” The accused faced six months to five years in prison. The defendants pleaded not guilty.

The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier
2023-10-03 10:59:11
The French scientist Pierre Agostini, the Austrian-Hungarian Ferenc Krausz and the Swedish franc Anne L’Huillier were awarded today with the prize Nobel Prize in Physics for the development of methods that allowed us to improve the study of the dynamics of electrons in atoms, which opens the door to numerous applications such as understanding the behavior of electrons in a material or improving the precision of a medical diagnosis.
«Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier have shown “a way to create extremely short pulses of light that can be used to measure the rapid processes in which electrons move or change energy,” explained the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences when making the announcement.
And he continued: «In the world of electrons, changes occur in a few tenths of an attosecond; An attosecond is so short that there are as many in a second as there have been seconds since the birth of the universe.
The awardees’ experiments did just that: produce light pulses so short that they are measured in attoseconds, thus demonstrating that these pulses can be used to provide images of processes within atoms and molecules.
In 1987, Anne L’Huillier discovered that many different shades of light emerged when she transmitted infrared laser light through a noble gas; This happens because the laser light interacts with the gas atoms, providing additional energy to some electrons that is then emitted as light. L’Huillier has continued to explore this phenomenon, laying the groundwork for further advances.
For its part, Pierre Agostini in 2001 managed to produce and investigate a series of consecutive light pulses, each of which lasted only 250 attoseconds; while Ferenc Krausz was working on another type of experiment, one that allowed the isolation of a single pulse of light lasting 650 attoseconds.
“Now we can open the door to the world of electrons. Attosecond physics gives us the opportunity to understand the mechanisms governed by electrons. The next step will be to use them,” said Eva Olsson, president of the Nobel Committee for Physics.
Pierre Agostini received his doctorate in 1968 from the University of Aix-Marseille (France)is currently a professor at the Ohio State University, Columbus (United States).
Ferenc Krausz He was born in 1962 in Mór (Hungary) and received his doctorate in 1991 from the Vienna University of Technology (Austria); Currently he is director of the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany).
For its part, Anne L’Huillier He was born in 1958 in Paris (France) and received his doctorate in 1986 from the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris); She is currently a professor at Lund University, Sweden.

Rugby World Cup 2023. Dupont, Aldegheri, Marchand… an update on the injured players of the French XV
2023-10-03 10:47:00
Dupont validated its concussion protocol
Joined the group this weekend ten days following having undergone surgery for a maxillo-zygomatic fracture, Antoine Dupont passed the objectives set on Sunday and Monday concerning the lifting and running exercises without any worries. The captain of the Blues also validated his concussion protocol via a neurological examination ordered by Doctor Philippe Turblin. “This will not be a hindrance for the practice of rugby,” assures Bruno Boussagol.

From now on, the next step for the scrum-half’s potential return to competition will be Monday, with a final check-up with his surgeon in Toulouse, Professor Lauwers. “We will wait for his opinion to see what development we can imagine with Antoine over the following week if we qualify,” specifies the health manager of the Blues. He will stay with the group until Friday’s match.
Package merchant for Italy…
As announced, Julien Marchand will not be on the scoresheet once morest the Transalpins. Affected in the left hamstring during the opening match once morest New Zealand, the hooker is not yet at 100% of his abilities and the staff preferred to postpone his recovery. “We took advantage of the two days to increase intensity and to try to introduce the concept of rugby. We had a goal that we didn’t achieve because he’s having difficulty completing tasks today. We know that these are delicate lesions to treat and which can recur, so we do not want to find ourselves in this situation. We are going to be in the same process next week,” said one of the physiotherapists of the French XV.
…while Aldegheri postulates
Spared on Monday, Dorian Aldegheri should be in the group to face the Italians. The right pillar of Toulouse felt discomfort in his quadriceps during the first part of training on Sunday, but medical imaging subsequently showed that everything was normal. “We are entering the last phase of the competition so we are very attentive to these little signs. We preferred to take him out of training,” explains Boussagol. So he just trained physically according to the preparation program and everything went well. He will resume collective training on Wednesday in Lyon and is applying for the Italy match.

Swiss Flight Attendants Dancing on Plane Wings: The Shocking Incident with Surprising Consequences

Tiktok: That’s why the dancing Swiss crew gets away scot-free
A cell phone video from August shows three Swiss flight attendants fooling around and posing for photos on the wings of a Boeing 777. This has no consequences.

This video from a Swiss crew went around the world.
That’s what it’s regarding
A video shows Swiss flight attendants dancing on the wing of a plane and posing for photos.
For Swiss it is clear: “This behavior will not be tolerated.” The action was dangerous and forbidden.
But the dance will have no consequences for the crew.
The corresponding video might be seen on the Instagram channel of the user “spottersbrasil” for a few hours before it was deleted. The Swiss were aware of their crew’s spontaneous dance performance on the wings of an aircraft, but they didn’t find it funny. “What looks like fun in the video is life-threatening. The wings of the Boeing 777 are at a height of around five meters. A fall from this height onto the hard surface can be devastating. This behavior will not be tolerated,” Swiss spokesman Michael Pelzer told 20 Minutes in August.
Written warning
Like research from CH-Media show, the dance performance has no consequences for the crew. “There was a written warning in the sense of documenting the case, but no sanctions that would have affected the employees’ activities as crew members,” as spokeswoman Meike Fuhlrott told CH-Media. Discussions were held with the crew involved. «We look for an error, not for the culprit, but for the cause – so that this error no longer happens. This is our top priority,” explains Fuhlrott. Employees are encouraged to report an error.
“The area of the wing around the emergency exit on a Boeing 777 consists of a metal layer made of solid aluminum on the surface. A sash is extremely stable at this point in particular – damage from being walked on is therefore fundamentally impossible. “The crew members seen in the video primarily put themselves in danger,” says Fuhlrott.
“The behavior of the crew members in the video neither corresponds to our safety requirements nor does it reflect the high level of professionalism of our employees.”

Internal video to employees
After the video became known, things sounded a little different. In an internal video sent to all Swiss employees, the top cabin manager, Martin Knuchel, appears annoyed: “Hey guys, I’ll be honest. I’m angry and disappointed.” Such actions are damaging to Swiss and the cabin crew’s job profile, according to the manager. «What if the passengers no longer trust us following they see this video? This has to stop, there can be no more videos. But to counteract initial rumors, we won’t just fire anyone.”
Finally, Fuhlrott tells CH-Media: “The behavior of the crew members in the said video neither corresponds to our safety requirements nor does it reflect the high level of professionalism of our employees.”
