FPÖ – Nepp demands immediate resignation of the Vienna police leadership
2023-10-11 21:05:04
Vienna (OTS) – In view of the recent events in downtown Vienna, in which a pro-Palestine demonstration took place despite an original ban, the Viennese FPÖ leader Dominik Nepp is calling for the immediate resignation of the Vienna police leadership. In Nepp’s opinion, the measures to maintain public safety were inadequate and the decision not to disperse the meeting shows dangerous negligence.
“The Vienna police leadership has failed to ensure public order and security. The demonstration should have been disbanded immediately,” emphasizes Nepp. “The passivity of police leadership at a time when clear and decisive action is needed is unacceptable. We therefore demand the immediate resignation of those responsible.”
The FPÖ Vienna also condemns the fact that despite the clear indications of possible calls for violence once morest the State of Israel, the demonstration was not nipped in the bud.
“It is the duty of the police to protect the citizens of Vienna and maintain public order. This omission cannot and must not remain unanswered,” concludes Nepp.

Electoral Simulation at UPAEP: Security Voted as Top Priority by 10% of Students
2023-10-12 00:30:31
This exercise had the participation of a thousand people, which represented 10% of the student community, who chose security as the priority issue to be resolved among the different thematic axes.
With the support of the State Electoral Institute (IEE) and the Impulso Águila Board of Directors, within the framework of the #GeneraciónDeCambio campaign, the first Electoral Simulation was carried out at the UPAEP with the participation of a thousand young people who voted no for a single candidate, but by thematic axes of university life such as: Quality Education, Culture, University Integration, Security, Sports and Student Welfare.
For this exercise, the prior registration of the young people was required, who, through a form, showed their intentions to participate in said Drill, managing to gather nearly a thousand registrations, which represented 10% of the total student community and which was 100 % of the sample population, however, only 534 young people came on the day of the Electoral Simulation to cast their vote on October 10.
It should be noted that, of the 534 votes registered, 169 were for Security, 97 for Quality Education and 73 for Sports, positioning themselves as the priority issues among university students and followed by Student Welfare and Culture with 72 and 59 votes, more than 31 votes. They were annulled.
In this regard, Teresa Jacqueline Pérez Torres, Technical Assistant in Civic Education of the State Electoral Institute (IEE) and member of the National Electoral Professional Service of the OPL System, highlighted the enthusiasm of young people to promote this exercise that aimed to bring young people closer to their right to vote, especially because there are those who, in 2024, will be their first time going to the polls.
“We are very grateful to the university for supporting us with this exercise, since within civic education these issues of promoting democratic culture are also in charge. The importance of these exercises is to create civic spaces, where people who are going to cast their vote for the first time can learn more regarding the activity and that on the day of the institutional election day they can be more prepared,” he highlighted.
And, for this exercise, the State Electoral Institute, through the Department of Technical Assistance in Civic Education, provided training to the polling station officials, lent ballot boxes and screens and assisted the officials with documentation such as the tally sheets and counting, the minutes of the election day, ballots, etc.
“This type of democratic exercise allows students to learn more regarding how some institutions such as the IEE and INE organize an election, in addition to promoting citizen participation in students, but more importantly, exercising an informed vote. We invite you to continue pay attention to this type of activities that students will be generating within the framework of the #GenerationDeChange campaign to encourage informed voting towards the 2024 elections,” said Mr. José Ramón Rodríguez Fabre, Coordinator of Student Groups.

Marco Verratti’s Departure from PSG: Unveiling Luis Enrique’s Reasons and Verratti’s Next Chapter
2023-10-11 22:17:04
After eleven seasons at PSG, Marco Verratti left the capital this summer following the arrival of Luis Enrique. In an interview with L’Equipe, the Italian midfielder presented the reasons given by the Spanish coach to push him towards the exit.
An era ended last summer at PSG. That of Marco Verratti, who arrived in 2012 from Pescara. Presented on the same day as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Italian finally left a huge mark on the capital club. But the beautiful story ended on the sly this summer. After eleven seasons in Paris, Verratti was pushed out. Essentially by Luis Enrique according to the person concerned. “After the restart, I had an interview with the coach, he told me that I was not part of his plans. He is a very great coach, he is doing good things with PSG. I didn’t see it as a personal decision. (…) He wanted to change,” he said in an interview with The team.
Verrati not holding a grudge once morest Luis Enrique
“I think that in football, there aren’t many ‘good’ reasons. Everyone has their own vision of the game. I think Luis Enrique needed other players. I have nothing once morest him, we have had very good relationships. (…) Sometimes there are changes and that’s good too,” confided Verratti, not very bitter towards his short-lived coach.
Asked to leave the club, Marco Verratti then turned to Qatar, and Al-Arabi, while Barça and Bayern Munich had knocked on the door. “I wanted to have a different experience. I didn’t want to go to another team in Europe where I might have faced PSG. I wanted it to be my last team. I got this offer in Doha. Certainly the level is not the same but I take other pleasures: helping the championship grow, advising my teammates,” he confides to explain his choice.
