(Archyde.com, Washington, 13th) The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched a probe from Florida today to the asteroid Psyche. Scientists believe that this asteroid is the remaining core of an ancient protoplanet. There may be clues to the formation of the Earth. The Psyche probe was folded into the cargo bay of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy launch vehicle and lifted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. , embarking on a planned space journey of 3.5 billion kilometers. The probe is regarding the size of a small truck and is expected to arrive at Psyche in August 2029. Since asteroids are primitive relics from the beginning of the formation of the solar system, NASA has recently carried out a series of missions to use unmanned probes to explore asteroids to find clues to the origin of the earth regarding 4.5 billion years ago. Today’s launch is the latest related mission. Psyche is the largest of several known metal-rich asteroids in the solar system. The distance between its two widest points is regarding 279 kilometers, and it is located on the outer edge of the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. After the probe arrives at Psyche, it will orbit for 26 months and scan the asteroid with built-in instruments to measure its gravity, magnetism and composition. According to a mainstream hypothesis, Psyche is the internal remnant of a nascent planet that was once melted and frozen for a long time. This nascent planet broke apart due to impacts from other celestial bodies in the early stages of the formation of the solar system. Psyche is the first asteroid of its kind selected to be studied at close range by a detector. It is believed to be mainly composed of iron, nickel, gold and other metals. But scientists say the mission has nothing to do with space mining but to better understand how Earth and other rocky planets formed with molten metal at their cores. Earth’s current molten core is too deep and hot for humans to directly explore. This is the first time NASA has used the Falcon Heavy rocket to perform a dedicated launch mission, and it is also the first time this rocket has been used for an interstellar mission.Central News Agency (Translation) NASA launches probe to visit the planet Spirit to search for clues regarding the formation of the Earth

For several weeks, bed bugs have invaded the news. So much so that 4 out of 10 French people say they want to scratch when they hear regarding it. But beyond the psychosis, how do you know if you have been bitten by a bedbug and not by a mosquito or a flea? The answer in 5 clues.
1- The appearance of the bites
Bedbug bites are quite characteristic. They appear as raised red spots measuring 5 mm to 2 cm, with a hemorrhagic red dot in their center. Unlike a mosquito bite (which looks more like a blister) or that of a flea, which is smaller and has a white or yellowish dot in its center.
2- In a row of onions
Another element, bedbug bites are often grouped together on the skin, in rows. At least at first. Because if you continue to sleep in an infested place, pimples will appear all over your skin.
3- The moment when it itches
These bites are responsible for itching. Since bedbugs feed at night, while you sleep, the itching is more pronounced in the morning, when you wake up.
4- Autumn and winter
Another clue is the time of year you get bitten. The weather should soon give way to cold days, which mosquitoes do not like. On the other hand, no worries for bedbugs which do not have a preferred season. Clearly, if in autumn or winter you notice pimples and your skin itches, there is a strong risk that it is bedbugs.
5- Traces in the bed
Last clue: small black stains on the sheets, mattress or box spring. These are actually bed bug excrement. Other stains are blood stains, coming from bedbugs you inadvertently crushed while sleeping.
How to relieve stings?
Start by cleaning the affected area, then apply an anti-itch cream. Another tip (easy to say): avoid scratching. You might make the skin lesions worse and cause an infection. Finally, do not hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Ethiopia selects two coffee waste recycling start-ups for African Startup Awards
2023-10-15 22:01:08
Addis Ababa hosts the next African Startup Awards from October 25 to 27 to reward the best start-ups in Africa. To represent the host country, the two selected start-ups have both found a solution to reuse waste from coffee cultivation and consumption. Objective: to reduce the pollution caused by this industry. An important issue for Ethiopia, the 5th largest coffee producer in the world with 450,000 tonnes produced per year, half of which is consumed by its inhabitants.
In the middle of the carpentry workshops of Addis Ababa, a small hangar houses the premises of the start-up Husk Energy and technology. Holeyat Berhanu co-founded this company with his friend Yohannes Wasihun. The machine they developed makes it possible to recycle the shells of coffee beans into combustible granules: “ Here, we put the coffee husks or sawdust, the biomass: the rotation applies pressure on the material and with the friction, this creates heat, a high temperature and a strong pressure which compresses the biomass. At the end, the pellets come out very strong and dense. »
This idea came to them while interviewing coffee farmers: “ They told us that the coffee husks accumulated in their village fermented when they came into contact with the rain. This creates a very bad smell that makes everyone in the surrounding area sick. Another solution is to burn them, but this creates carbon emissions. »
Mutual help from startuppers
To get started, several obstacles had to be overcome, but in the start-up world, entrepreneurs stick together. “ We communicate, we give each other ideas, that’s how we surviveexplain Yohannes Wasihun, co-founder of Husk Energy & Technology. We are also a member of the Clean Cooking association which brings together other companies in the sector. We share our problems and try to solve them together. »
Among the other promising startups, Almaw Molla, founder of Coffe Resurrect, whose project aims to recycle coffee grounds to make cosmetic oil but also nutritious flours: “ We are trying to involve NGOs to create coffee flour. Most food crops like teff or wheat are not found where coffee is grown, so we try to promote this crop in another way. »
At the moment, the company is in the research and development stage. Before launching a first pilot project in Ethiopia and then across the continent. The African Startup Awards competition represents a great showcase for these young entrepreneurs to try to attract investors.
