For several months now, Ingrid has been fighting for her mother, Katia, to obtain reimbursement of an overpayment amounting to more than 1000 euros from EDF. If the energy supplier initially admits its billing error, it would have backpedaled and would now refuse reimbursement.

A technical incident made the emergency number 112 difficult to reach on Thursday shortly before 2 p.m. People who are unable to directly contact the number dedicated to vital emergencies are invited to use alternative telephone numbers by province as a recourse, Be-Alert, the alert system used by the authorities, said on Thursday.

Supporting Resistance: Samidoun and the Palestinian Prisoners Solidarity Network
2023-10-19 11:07:00
This Wednesday, residents of the Bruyères district in Louvain-la-Neuve were able to discover an unexpected tag at Place de l’Équerre. At the bottom of the stairs, on the ground leading to the small local business, local residents were able to discover a Palestinian flag topped with the words: “Support resistance Samidoun”.
Samidoun defines itself as a solidarity network for Palestinian prisoners and it recently made the news here during the pro-Palestinian demonstration in Saint-Gilles last weekend. For other observers, it is more of a group supporting Hamas. Samidoun also describes the new war between Hamas and Israel as a “resistance operation”.

As for the municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, mayor Julie Chantry (Ecolo) informs us that the tag “will be removed quickly”. The police have already come to check, warns a local resident. As with all tags, the municipality will apply the usual procedure and the department concerned will come and remove the registration. Contacted in turn, UCLouvain declared that it had not observed similar tags on its properties. In any case, the university considers all tags on its buildings as vandalism and applies “the same regime for everyone”, that is to say cleaning by the services.
Concerning the nature of the message and the group presumed to be behind it, neither the mayor nor UCLouvain wanted to comment on the subject, just referring to the nature of the act.

Baptist Hospital in Gaza Devastated by Bombing: Final Death Toll and Resuming Services Tomorrow
2023-10-18 16:18:00
The deputy head of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, Fadi Dhiyab, said on Wednesday that the killing of hundreds in the bombing of the hospital was “very heartbreaking,” noting that the hospital would resume its services on Thursday.
Fadi Dhiyab said, in an interview with Sky News Arabia:
We are still in shock from what happened on Tuesday evening. The incident is heartbreaking in every way and cannot be imagined by the human mind. The final death toll will be released soon, but it is initially between 450 and 500 victims, including dead and wounded. The hospital was founded a century ago and is charitable and non-profit, and provides services to families in the Gaza Strip. The hospital stopped providing its services today, but will return to service tomorrow. Hundreds were taking shelter in the hospital from bombing elsewhere. We have no knowledge of any movements or activities around the hospital. The health conditions in the Gaza Strip are clear to everyone.
Palestinian officials say the explosion, which occurred at the hospital, was caused by an Israeli air strike, while Israel said the explosion was the result of a failed rocket launch by Hamas.
