Aurélien Rousseau announces measures to recognize and promote medical regulation assistants
2023-09-28 17:50:00
For several weeks, the services of the Ministry of Health and Prevention have been discussing with representatives of medical regulation assistants (ARM) around better recognition of their role in our health system. Following these discussions, Aurélien Rousseau, Minister of Health and Prevention, announced new statutory and compensation measures this morning during a trip to the Val-de-Marne SAMU, at the Henri-Mondor Hospital. (Creteil).
Medical dispatch assistants (ARMs), who answer calls to 15, play a fundamental role in handling emergencies and unscheduled care, anywhere and at any time.
More generally, it is a question of continuing to support the actors and organizations enabling the management of emergencies and unscheduled care, a project which is among the priorities of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and on which the Government has been strongly committed in recent years. Concerning ARMs, the Government has chosen, in recent years, to better promote their role in the health system and to recognize them as professionals with specific skills. Thus, the resources devoted to the training of ARMs have been increased, with the creation of 19 specialized centers throughout the territory and the recognition of a work-study training course in particular. At the same time, the Government has also significantly increased the number of ARMs in the SAMU and SAS.
As an extension of these first measures, Aurélien Rousseau, Minister of Health and Prevention, has decided to take new statutory and compensation measures for medical regulation assistants:
- A significant increase in the medical regulation assistance premium : the premium which currently amounts to €120 gross per month will be increased to €220 gross per month from January 1, 2024.
- Recognition of specific paths to career advancement. ARMs will have development methods specific to their profession, allowing their specificities to be recognized and offering them prospects for favorable development for their career.
These two measures constitute, once once more, a major step forward for ARMs, which are an essential link in the relief chain. It aims to recognize their skills and specific missions in health establishments. With these announcements, we want to confirm the Government’s support for them. But our attention to the profession does not stop there: we will continue to monitor entry into training, and to evaluate the way in which all of these measures make it possible to make this profession attractive, to better meet the health needs of French. These efforts are part of the pursuit of a global plan to improve the emergency treatment and unscheduled care sector.
declared Aurélien Rousseau.

Tuareg Rebellion in Mali: Deadly Attack on Dioura Camp by Separatist Rebels
2023-09-30 18:37:00
The predominantly Tuareg separatist rebellion claimed on Saturday to have caused dozens of deaths in the ranks of the Malian army during Thursday’s attack on the Dioura camp, in the Mopti region (center).
The rebels said they had counted 98 bodies of soldiers, in a statement published on behalf of the Permanent Strategic Framework, a de facto structure dominated by the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA), an alliance of predominantly Tuareg separatist groups.
The claims of the rebels and all the protagonists in the fighting are difficult to verify in these remote areas. Access to independent sources in a context of hostilities and military rule is complicated.
The Malian army has so far been content to report the assault on its camp on Thursday, without further details, despite the proliferation of elements and images on the events in Dioura on social networks.
Since the end of August, northern Mali has been the scene of a resumption of hostilities by the CMA and an intensification of jihadist attacks once morest the Malian army. Operations have targeted several army positions since then.
The Dioura attack is the furthest south in relation to the CMA’s field of action since the latter took up arms.
This resurgence coincides with the ongoing withdrawal of the UN mission, pushed out by the junta in power since 2020.

This resurgence is juxtaposed with the violence still ongoing in the center and the jihadist expansion to the north and east.
The rebels claim to have lost seven fighters themselves. They claim to have injured dozens of soldiers, to have taken five prisoners, to have ensured “total control of the influence” and to have seized significant quantities of weapons, ammunition and equipment, including armored vehicles. .
The junta makes the restoration of sovereignty over the entire territory one of its mantras and ensures that it is reversing the security trend. On the contrary, various experts report a deterioration of the situation in a country plunged into turmoil since 2012.
