MEXICO CITY (AP) — With a goal from Raymundo Fulgencio in the second half, champion Tigres drew 2-2 once morest Puebla on Thursday in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Apertura tournament in Mexico.
Sebastián Córdova put the university students ahead in the 38th minute, Guillermo Martínez tied it in the 44th minute and Paraguayan Sebastián Olmedo turned it around in the 52nd minute before Fulgencio leveled the match in the 75th minute.
Tigres now needs any draw to qualify for the semifinals.
The Pueblans require a victory by any score to stay alive.
Puebla started the match better and was close to taking the lead with a shot by Guillermo Martínez that was deflected by Argentine goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán.
After that, the visiting team was better on the field and generated four clear plays, three of those deflected by goalkeeper Jesús Rodríguez, including a spectacular one from a shot by Colombian Luis Quiñones.
Tigres showed their dominance when Fernando Gorriarán sent a cross from the left towards the heart of the area where Córdova connected with a header that entered the left post.
Puebla leveled at the end of the first half when Colombian Kevin Velasco sent a cross from the right into the area where Martínez appeared to finish with a header and beat Guzmán’s shot.
The locals took the lead when Velasco sent a cross from the right towards the penalty area where Olmedo appeared alone to finish off with a header and leave the visiting team’s goalkeeper with no chance.
Tigres tied it when Brazilian Rafael Carioca gave a pass inside the area to Fulgencio, who took a powerful shot that entered Rodríguez’s right post to make it 2-2.

Influential Former US Secretary of State and Controversial Climate Summit: Latest News and Updates
2023-11-30 17:55:22
The former US Secretary of State died at the age of 100 at his home in the US state of Connecticut. Kissinger was considered one of the most influential diplomats of the 20th century. As Secretary of State under Presidents Nixon and Ford, he had great influence on world politics, but was also very controversial. In the 1970s he pushed for an easing of relations with the Soviet Union. He also initiated a cautious rapprochement with communist-ruled China. In 1973, Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize together with the North Vietnamese chief negotiator for a ceasefire agreement in the Vietnam War. The war continued despite the agreement. After his political career, he remained an influential advisor and wrote numerous books. Just last July, Kissinger traveled to China and met President Xi Jinping there.

Controversial world climate summit started in Dubai
The world climate conference Cop Twenty Ait started in Dubai on Thursday. The fact that the head of an oil company took over the presidency for the summit caused criticism in advance. In addition, fierce wrangling over the financing of the proposals is expected once more. The focus is on the first global agreement on a gradual phase-out of the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, which are held responsible for the increase in the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and thus global warming. Disaster aid for poor countries is also discussed. Delegates from 200 countries already had a proposal on Thursday to set up a fund to deal with the consequences of climate disasters such as floods or droughts. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres calls for solutions.
