Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav told the media that he will not participate in the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. He also stated that seat sharing discussions related to 2024 Lok Sabha elections are going on.

He dodged questions from reporters regarding the issue between RJD and JDU. Reportedly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is unhappy with the delay in seat allocation. Nitish Kumar had demanded that the seat division be completed early in Bihar, the third state that sends the largest number of members to the Assembly.

It is reported that the JDU will demand 17 seats in which all the seats it won in 2019 should be given to itself and the rest to RJD, Congress and three left parties.

Left party leaders say that the 2019 parliamentary election seat formula cannot be applied to the 2024 elections. She says JDU was in alliance with BJP five years ago and there are issues of seat transfer but she believes it will be resolved.
