Lusail (Switzerland): The Indian men’s hockey team will play in a tough Pool B at the Paris Olympics from July 27 to August 9. India is in Pool B along with current champions Belgium, Australia and Rio Games winners Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland.
India is currently third in the world ranking behind Belgium and the Netherlands. Pool A consists of Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, France and South Africa. The top 4 teams in each pool will advance to the knockout stages. Meanwhile, the Indian men’s hockey team, which is touring South Africa as part of the preparations for the Paris Olympics, defeated France 4–0.
