Cillian Murphy won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his starring role in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” in which he plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.”
Murphy said during his speech following receiving the award: “I knew the first time I stepped onto the set of Christopher Nolan that it was going to be different. Cillian Murphy is an Irish actor who began his career as a stage actor and then moved to film and television. He has collaborated frequently with Christopher Nolan.

As for Murphy’s portrayal of Oppenheimer, Nolan described it as “honestly one of my favorite moments in cinema.” Murphy underwent five months of preparation before filming, losing weight to better fit the scientist’s image and rehearsing his facial expressions, Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter.
