2024-01-17 21:08:31
In a press release published at the end of this meeting, the engineers invited the government to open a serious and responsible dialogue with UNIM, like previous experiences, the last of which dates back to 2011, in order to find solutions to the various problems affecting the profession, in particular the draft new decree on the fundamental status of the Order of Engineers, which UNIM proposed on October 31, 2022.
In this sense, UNIM warned the government “ once morest the abuses that may occur due to the wait-and-see approach in handling this issue”, which leads to immense anger in the ranks of engineers in all sectors. , and who no longer support the working conditions currently in force.
The Union thus announces the organization of a conference on Saturday February 3, 2024 on the draft fundamental statute of the Order of Engineers, while welcoming the spirit of mobilization which characterizes most branches and sectors of the engineering on the national scene for the adoption of a new statute capable of doing justice to the body of engineers in the public sector.
UNIM has also announced that its National Council will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024, and will be devoted to the scheduling of general assemblies for the election of delegates, as well as to the preparation of the engineers’ response, if the Executive does not respond favorably to their calls.
The Union also announced the organization of an online conference on water, on Monday March 4, 2024, on the occasion of the celebration of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, established by UNESCO, under the theme: “Engineering solutions for a sustainable world”.
“We renew our denunciation of the persistent refusal of the authorities to provide a receipt authorizing the renewal of the National Office of the Union and the local offices of certain of its sections in different cities. We denounce the restrictions on union and collective work as well as the abuses and violations to which engineers are exposed in certain sectors and companies,” the press release concludes.

On the third anniversary of his return to Russia, the 47-year-old explains his reasons.
Three years ago today, Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny returned to Russia from Germany following being treated for severe poisoning – and was immediately arrested at Moscow airport. The 47-year-old has been in prison ever since, even in Siberia since December.
Navalny wrote on the third anniversary of his return on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that he was often asked why he did not stay abroad. His answer to this is always: “I have my country and my beliefs.”
“Demands for a different leadership are not exotic, sectarian or radical.”

Anyone who wants to stand up for this in Russia must be prepared to sit in solitary confinement if necessary. «Of course I don’t like being there. But I will not give up my ideas or my homeland.”
The Kremlin critic explained that President Vladimir Putin’s rule will end. His demand for a different leadership is not exotic, sectarian or radical. Anyone who has power must give it back. “The best way to elect a leader is through honest and free elections.”
As isolated as possible before election
After Navalny was treated in Germany for the consequences of a poison attack, he returned to Russia on January 17, 2021 and was arrested at the airport.
Last December, the politician, who was classified as a political prisoner, disappeared for several weeks. The justice system had moved him from the European part of Russia to a prison camp in the far north of Siberia. Navalny suspects that he should be as isolated as possible there before the upcoming presidential election in March.
In Brussels, the EU called for the immediate release of Navalny and other political prisoners in Russia to mark the anniversary.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development highlighted the importance of considering food safety and the proper use of drugs in veterinary medicine, as strategic axes to attack the global problem of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
Within the framework of the celebration of World Awareness Week on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development recognized the importance of food safety and the proper use of drugs in veterinary medicine, such as strategic axes to attack this global problem.
Agriculture strengthened its strategy for AMR surveillance, which is aligned with the recommendations of the World Health Organizations (WHO), the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Animal Health Organization (WHOSA) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), under the One Health concept.
Thus, starting in 2023, Senasica’s actions once morest AMR involve strengthening surveillance in the food chain to encourage veterinarians and producers to apply hygiene and sanitary measures to reduce the use of medications intended to combat infections in animals.
Also, in the area of safety, Agriculture operates strategies to strengthen the production of foods free of microbiological contaminants, in order to prevent their dispersion in the environment and increase resistance to antimicrobials.
For the 2023 commemoration of World AMR Awareness Week, the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service (Senasica) organized two virtual forums with international specialists, in coordination with the General Health Council.
With this designation, Mexico joined the United States, Costa Rica and Argentina, as the only countries on the continent that collaborate with the WHO on AMR and the only one in Latin America focused on the agri-food safety sector.
In accordance with the mission of the Network of Collaborating Centers for AMR Quality Surveillance and Evaluation, Mexico supports the countries of Central America, the Caribbean and South America to develop their capacities and implement AMR surveillance in the short and medium term. RAM throughout the region.
