Observers Reveal Three Modes of Fraud in 2024 Legislative Election – 2024-03-11 20:15:56
DIRECTOR of the Indonesian Survey and Polling Institute (SPIN), Igor Dirgantara explained a number of allegations of fraud in the legislative general election (pileg).
This method, explained Igor, occurred, among other things, during voting at the TPS. There were findings of alleged fraud involving party elements with the help of unscrupulous organizers in the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS).
Second, it occurred at the level of the recapitulation process at the sub-district or district level with suspicions that there were indications of possible vote inflating by elements of other political parties. One of those who suffered losses was the Gelora Party.
“Therefore, the Gelora Party needs to maximize its existing Witness Team to oversee every recapitulation at the District Election Committee (PPK) and district or city Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) levels,” he explained in the statement received.
Third, he continued, is the alleged black market practice of buying and selling syndicated votes. Like the phenomenon of buying and selling votes by inflating votes from other political parties. This happened in Malaysia
According to Igor, several parties through individual legislative candidates allegedly often use KPPS officers, so that the process of transferring invalid votes belongs to other legislative candidates.

Previously, the Gelora Party discovered allegations of fraud that had the potential to harm the party’s votes.
As happened during the plenary meeting of vote counting at the Tangerang City level which was held at the Days Hotel, Tangerang City, Banten, March 6, data was found that the Tangerang City DPRD candidate from Gelora in the name of Nadine Tarizza lost 6 votes, from 365 to 359 votes.
Apart from that, the sole candidate for the Banten Province DPRD for the Tangerang 8 electoral district, Indra Kurniawan, also lost 10 votes. Indra’s vote was reduced from the original 155 to 145.
“The KPU’s Sirekap, which currently only displays the plan C model form, is also considered confusing. Therefore, the KPU must repair and clean up the Sirekap whose data is out of sync, so that it can display data that is closer to a more real and transparent data portrait,” he stressed. . (Z-7)

Strengthening Rice Food Security Cooperation, Indonesian Ambassador Visits Rice Producers in Cambodia – 2024-03-11 20:14:56
The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Santo Darmosumarto, visited Prey Veng Province, which is regarding 100 kilometers from the capital city of Phnom Penh and is one of Cambodia’s rice fields. The visit was the result of a bilateral meeting between President Joko Widodo and Cambodian PM, Hun Manet, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne.
In a bilateral meeting in Melbourne, the two leaders agreed to continue to advance food security cooperation, especially related to rice trade. As a continuation of the first shipment of Cambodian rice to Indonesia last year, President Joko Widodo hopes that Indonesia can once more import quality rice from Cambodia at competitive prices.
Meanwhile, in his meeting with the Governor of Prey Veng, Suon Somalin, Ambassador Santo expressed the hope that the momentum of 65 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Indonesia and Cambodia this year might encourage strengthening economic cooperation.
“There is excellent potential in the agricultural sector. “For this reason, the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh is currently conducting an in-depth study of forms of cooperation that can be developed by the private sector and state-owned enterprises of the two countries,” said Santo, quoting a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday (10/3).
While in Prey Veng, Ambassador Santo visited two modern large-scale rice factories capable of producing rice with a capacity of around 3,000 tons per month each.
The leaders of the two factories expressed their readiness to export to Indonesia, especially because of their experience in exporting to China, European countries and Timor Leste.

Every year Prey Veng rice production reaches 1.7 million tons, but the majority is exported to Viet Nam, where the rice is then processed into rice. The Governor of Prey Veng expressed the hope that Indonesian entrepreneurs would be interested in participating in developing rice production and storage capacity in Prey Veng.
Based on data from the Cambodia Rice Federation, Cambodia’s total rice production reaches 11.62 million tons per year, while domestic consumption needs are only 5.8 million tons. In Cambodia there are a total of 270 rice mills and 80 of them have capacity for export. In 2023, Cambodia exported 656,000 tons of rice; 15,000 tons of which were sent to Indonesia.
In terms of quality, Cambodian rice has received various international awards. Therefore, there is a perception that, although suitable for Indonesian consumers, Cambodian rice is more expensive than the production of other neighboring countries. Exported Cambodian rice has certification from an accredited lab so its safety is guaranteed.
After visiting rice production locations in the provinces of Battambang, Kampong Speu and Prey Veng in the last 2 months, Ambassador Santo believes that the Cambodian rice industry is quite ready to support strengthening Indonesia’s food reserves.
“The agricultural sector is very close to the hearts of the Cambodian Government and people. “Partnerships in this field can be an important factor in strengthening RI-Cambodia cooperation in the future,” he said. (Z-8)

King Salman Calls for an End to ‘Heinous Crimes’ in Gaza in Ramadan Message – 2024-03-11 20:13:55
Saudi Arabia’s KING Salman in his message ahead of Ramadan called on the international community to end the “heinous crimes” taking place in Gaza, where war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for more than five months.
Speaking as the custodian of the two holiest sites in Islam, King Salman thanked on Sunday for the “blessings given to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, but noted the war in besieged Gaza would be a shadow during the holy month of fasting and prayer.
“As we welcome the arrival of Ramadan this year, our hearts are filled with sorrow for the continued suffering of our Palestinian brothers and sisters who face relentless aggression,” he said.
“We urge the international community to fulfill its responsibility to end this heinous crime and ensure the establishment of safe humanitarian and aid corridors.”
Gaza is experiencing a widespread humanitarian crisis following months of war sparked by Hamas’ unprecedented Oct. 7 attack on Israel.
Aid groups say only a fraction of the supplies needed to meet basic humanitarian needs have been allowed into the region following Israel threw it into a near-total siege. (AFP/Z-3)
