The Indonesian modern pentathlon TEAM (MPI) won two gold, six silver and two bronze medals in the 2024 Southeast Asian Championships in Chonbury, Pattaya, Thailand.
Two gold medals from the 2024 Southeast Asian Championships in Thailand were won by Graha Rizki in the battle category, and Caroline in the triathle category. Then there were six silver and two bronze medals won with other athletes.
For this achievement, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Modern Pentathlon Central Management (PP MPI) Purwoko Aji Prabowo expressed his appreciation by directly picking up the arrival of sports patriots, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Friday (26/4).
Purwoko said he was proud of this success. However, Purwoko asked all athletes not to be complacent.
“I think the current achievements are quite extraordinary, but this is a lesson, don’t be complacent,” said Purwoko.
According to Purwoko, the championship in Thailand is part of maturing Indonesia’s modern pentathlon athletes in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games.

“Because we will face the SEA Games next year, and it will also be held in Thailand. At least our athletes have seen the location, have seen the places to compete. Then try out who will be potential opponents,” he said.
MPI management, said Purwoko, is preparing to select modern pentathlon athletes by holding several national championships inviting all provincial representatives.
“This year we have reached out to the provincial administrators to prepare the athletes once more. At the end of May we will hold the MPI National Championship, we invite all provinces that are members of the MPI to take part,” he explained. (Z-6)
