The accessories manufacturer Anker announced today o recall of three models of MagSafe battery packs for iPhones. The recall was prompted by a manufacturing defect in the lithium-ion batteries, which can overheat and pose a fire risk.
According to the company, the affected models are: Anker 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K, model A1642), Anker Power Bank (model A1647) and Anker MagGo Power Bank (model A1652).
Although only a small number of batteries are potentially affected, the company said it has decided to recall all units manufactured between January 3rd e September 17, 2024as a precaution.
Users are advised to stop using the affected devices, store them safely, check the serial number, and fill out a form to receive a replacement. Model numbers are listed on the bottom or back of the devices.
In June of last year, Anker recalled another model of external battery, the 535 Power Bank (PowerCore 20K). At that time, the company identified an issue that also presented a risk of overheating and fire.

Mohamed Ihattaren gets another chance to prove himself as a professional footballer. This time, the 22-year-old will show his skills on the football field at RKC Waalwijk, where he has signed a one-year contract with an option for another season.
“I am grateful that RKC gives me the chance to be active as a football player again,” Ihattaren responded in a press release from the club. “The conversations with Mo Allach and Henk Fraser gave me the warm feeling I was looking for.”
Ihattaren started his career at PSV and broke through there. He was considered a top talent. In Eindhoven, the midfielder made an impression and scored ten times in 74 matches. But in the years that followed, his talent was rarely seen at Sampdoria, Ajax, Samsunspor and Slavia Prague respectively.
His last professional match was on May 6, 2022 with Jong Ajax against De Graafschap in the first division (1-1).
After his short-lived adventure in the Czech Republic – he lasted three months there – Ihattaren started working on himself with a team of coaches and psychiatrists.
“It fits in with the club’s philosophy to include players who, for whatever reason, are coming out of a difficult phase in their careers, within our family with the aim of helping each other,” says Mo Allach, technical director at RKC, in the press release. “With Mo, we are adding a creative midfielder to our group of players.”
At RKC, Ihattaren now gets the chance to show that his football talent has not disappeared. The Waalwijkers, with Henk Fraser at the helm, can use every quality boost, because they are last in the Eredivisie, with zero points from five matches.
