John Craemer & Janelle Fisher from the Green Bay Press Times are in with their weekly feature: Headlines with the Press Times! John is a multi-media journalist with the local paper, and Janelle covers everything entertainment! This week, they bring in Mike Ajango with Evergreen Theater. Mike shares a number of performances they have coming up over the next few months, and also talks briefly about a great summer program for kids that Evergreen puts on. Discussion of all the great music, theater, and arts in the area reminds us how lucky we are to have many great performance venues, large and small, in Northeast Wisconsin. Then a friend of the show, Reggie Desamour, owner of Area 509 in Appleton, joins to talk about his new food truck, “Busted Spud,” and some of the events they have planned this summer. Reggie has an interesting backstory! His passion for cooking started at a young age when he would be in the kitchen with his mother in Haiti. The youngest of three sons, he helped with a variety of chores, but cooking was his favorite. His passion was there! Early in 2019, Reggie decided to turn a hobby into a business and began the process of building his own food trailer. He wanted his food trailer to feature his authentic Caribbean food while allowing him to travel to different communities and connect with people. Roxanne even made us some rum cakes for his visit!
