This is the largest increase in cases since November 6, while La Matanie accumulated new cases related to the outbreak at the Résidence des Bâtisseurs.
The majority of new infections listed in the Rimouski-Neigette MRC are linked to the gatherings that have occurred at the P’tite Grenouille in Rimouski and at private parties last week, confirms Sylvie Lamontagne, spokesperson for cISS of Bas-Saint-Laurent.
She says the majority of Saturday’s 11 new cases in the MRCare also connected to it.
The call for screening by public health in the last days seems to be bearing fruit in the region: 713 screenings were carried out on Saturday, and 549 on Friday.
According to cISSBas-Saint-Laurent, the four new cases recorded Sunday in La Matanie were announced Saturday, but had not been entered in the national report due to the time of data extraction.
Six new cases are identified in the region of La Mitis and a case is added in the region of La Matapedia.
