31 billion DH in premiums issued in the first half of 2023 – Morocco today

Premiums issued by insurance and reinsurance companies reached nearly 31 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) in the first half of 2023, up 3.8%, compared to the same period of the previous year, indicates the Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS).
Thus, the “Non-life” branch increased by 8.6%, while the “Life” branch decreased by 2.3%, according to half-yearly statistics published by the Authority.
In the “Life” branch, the “Savings-support dirhams” and “Savings-support units of account” segments recorded a decrease of 0.3% and 37% respectively, while the “death” segment saw an increase of 2.5%. The Authority also reports an increase in technical risk premiums of 93.5% to 285.3 million dirhams (MDH).

Furthermore, premiums for personal accidents stood at nearly 2.83 billion dirhams in the second half, up 8.4%, while those issued under “Fire” insurance amounted to 1 .67 billion dirhams (12.5%).
